Essence vs. Essence: High Spirits / Barefoot through the moss [comparazione - comparison]

After swatching High Spirits I felt the urge to compare it with another Essence polish from a Trend Edition that came out in the same period, as at a first glance they seemed really similar.

Here they are side by side:

• pointer/ring Essence TE NATventURista Barefoot Through the Moss
• middle/pinkie: Essence Colour&Go 68 High Spirits

Actually I tried really hard to catch any differences between them: they only thing I noticed is that Barefoot has a little bit more silver shimmer so it seems slightly lighter, but I think that they are so close that a normal person (not a polishaholic) could consider them dupes. Do you agree?

Dopo aver swatchato High Spirits ho dovuto immediatamente compararlo con un altro smalto (che a occhio mi sembrava molto simile) della Trend Edition NATventURista, tra l'altro uscita nello stesso periodo (Autunno 2011), eccoli qui fianco a fianco:

• indice/anulare: Essence TE NATventURista Barefoot Through the Moss
• medio/mignolo: Essence Colour&Go 68 High Spirits

Mi sono concentrata un sacco per trovare le differenze tra i due, l'unica cosa che ho notato è  che il Barefoot ha giusto un po' di shimmer argento in più, quindi pare leggermente più chiaro.

Ma tornando nel mondo delle persone normali (e non delle malate di smalti) direi che sono così simili da poterli classificare come come “doppioni”. Che dite?

NATventURista Trend Edition completed! The last polish is a beige with pink shimmer, that gives color an interesting reflection (I was looking for the duochromey green hue found by TheSwatchaholic but sadly I haven't been able to find it).

Applicaton is nice, also because of wide brush, but polish is a little bit sheer and I had to apply three coats (even if my usual coat is more like a shovelful of polish).

Pretty color, a little bit pale but quite work/examination/whatever the formal occasion appropriate

Trend Edition NATventURista completata, con questo beige chiaro arricchito da shimmer rosa che gli danno dei bei riflessi (TheSwatchaholic ne ha trovati anche di verdi, ma pur avendo girato e rigirato la mia bottiglia, io purtroppo non li ho visti).

Si stende bene, anche grazie al pennello largo, ma è un pochino trasparente e per avere una buona copertura ho dovuto –anche se stendo le cosiddette "palate di smalto"–  dare tre mani.

Carino, un po' pallido ma sicuramente indossabile in qualsiasi occasione formale tipo ufficio/esame ecc...

NOTD: Essence NATventURista TE - 01 You're my Dragonfly, Sugar!

This shade is a little bit different from the others in this Trend Edition: silver shimmer is bigger and somehow scattered in polish.

Color not easy to wear on my skintone, as it's a light peach, quite sheer. After first two coats (see picture without bottle) I decided I needed a more intense color so I added another one.

Brush is wide and handy but mine had a bent bristle so I had to be extra careful applying polish.

To me this color is not really alluring (base color somehow reminds me of Chanel Tendresse) so I think I better find a new home for it (and have a certain friend in my mind...)

Questo colore è un po' diverso dai precedenti, lo shimmer argento è composto da particelle di maggiori dimensioni e distribuite in maniera meno omogenea, quasi fossero dei mini flakes. Colore non agevolissimo da portare (per me), un pesca chiaro anche abbastanza trasparente, dopo le prime due mani (foto senza bottiglia) ho dovuto stenderne ancora una per avere un risultato abbastanza colorato. Pennello largo come gli altri, quindi la stesura è facilitata; peccato che il mio avesse una fibra storta, che comunque non mi ha dato particolari difficoltà.
Decisamente non mi piace, ma è questione di gusti e probabilmente troverò una nuova casa per questo colorino che come base mi ricorda il Chanel Tendresse (ho in mente una certa amica che ama questi colori...).

Today I'll show you another polish from Essence NATventURista Trend Edition, also this one, as its green mate, has a lot of silver shimmer that give it an "almost frost" finish: shimmer tends to line up according to brush strokes, but luckily without visible signs!

A cool toned beige nice and wearable, after first coat it's sheer, but not streaky, and after second coat: perfecly opaque (as pictured).

Oggi un altro smalto della Trend Edition NATventURista Essence: anche questo, come il verde, ha parecchi microshimmer argento che conferiscono un'aura quasi-frost: gli shimmer seguono il senso della pennellate ma senza che si vedano i segni delle singole passate, cosa molto positiva. 

Il colore è discreto, un beige "freddo" molto portabile: prima mano trasparente ma non strisciata, con due è completamente coprente come da foto.

All polishes in this Trend Edition have soft and shimmery colors, this one is a sort of asparagus green with tons of silver fine shimmers that gave it a strange effect, similar to frost, but without the annoying visible brush strokes. Brush is wide and with two coats you're done.

Only weird thing on this polish is smell, I found it quite bad and this was strange, because the others from this collection didn't have that stink.

I like this color, it's strange but nice for Fall, even if it I think it made my skin look reddish :-/

Tutti i colori di questa Trend Edition sono tenui e shimmer, questo è un verde che Wikipedia definisce asparago, con un sacco di shimmer argento iridescenti che gli danno un effetto strano, quasi frost (ma proprio "quasi", non ci sono segni evidenti delle pennellate quando è asciutto). Il pennello è largo e con due passate si ha un buon risultato

L'unica cosa strana che ho notato in questo smalto è l'odore, veramente fastidioso. Mah! Gli altri della stessa collezione non puzzavano in quel modo.

Il colore mi è piaciuto molto, perfetto per l'autunno, anche se secondo me fa sembrare più rossa la mia pelle (il famigerato effetto aragosta) :-(
